Drinking From The Well Devotional: From PremadeWorship to Homemade Worship

IMG_4180 - Copy

You ever eat something premade and you know it tastes better homemade but; it’s convenient to pick it up to keep moving? Sometimes we have the same approach with worshipping God. We just turn on Youtube and start singing. But what if we made homemade worship? Kind of like finding your own words to express your love for God. Picking the melody and flow. Spontaneously cultivating an atmosphere that honors and appreciates God.

Throughout the book of Psalms, there are many references to homemade worship. Don’t take my word for it check it out. Psalm 33:3, Pslam 105:2, Psalm 98:1-7, Psalm 95:1, and Ephesian 5:19.  It’s like driving when you’re the passenger you don’t have to focus on the road but when you are the driver you main focus is the road. With homemade worship, you are the driver on the road to Jesus.

When we sing premade songs we tend to just sing them from our memory, not from our heart. Singing to our father cleanses our heart have you ever noticed when your done worshipping you feel great. Heres some secret sauce; homemade worship has less to do with talent and more to do with your HEART. And of course with Christ, all things are possible so if you don’t know where to start just ask God. How do I worship? He will lead you. Okay, so I tried to create something on the spot. So I’m not just preaching but living this thing out. I wish you could hear me sing it. With all of the challenges that are happening in this world, I wanted to sing song acknowledging God is a comforter and sweet friend and that he will be with us during this time. Here it is below.

You’re near to the brokenhearted

Near to the soul, whose lost it

 Lord you are near

Lord you are here with me

We don’t have to be afraid

We are not Hopeless and Defeated

because we are not forsaken

Lord you are near

Lord you are here with me

You can always be found x2

Lord you are near

Lord you are here with me

If you haven’t accepted Jesus in your heart and you would like to, here’s a prayer you can pray and get connected to a local church.

Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith, I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen. This prayer is from Dr.Ray Pritchard found
