May Monthly Devotional: Unclaimed Joy

So many of us are walking around unaware of unclaimed properties we own. It could be an ancestor who left us land, or a previous job having unclaimed funding for us. Whatever it is; its something that is ours but we do not have the understanding of ownership to claim it. This happens much in the natural but even more in the spiritual realm. The bible is filled with promises we don’t claim. Nevertheless, If we don’t know God’s promises, we can still be bonded when we have been free all along. Many times, when we feel we are lacking and absent, we tend to look to others who seem to have what we desire. In previous friendship’s, I did just this. My entire life I have always felt joyless and latched on to others who seem joyful; in hopes that I too could bask in that joy. When these friendships ended, I had to find joy from the true source, within myself. I searched and searched and the trail brought me to God. The bible is filled with so many promises of us having joy.  Now when I look at those super joyful people who burst out joy, I know I carry that same joy as well. Have you claimed your joy?

Here are two great scriptures on Joy:

These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.1 John 15:11

Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. 1 John 15:11

Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me— now let me rejoice. Psalm 51:8

I love you Treasures, God Loves you more.

If you haven’t accepted Jesus in your heart, and you would like to here’s a prayer you can pray and get connected to a local church.

Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life.I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith, I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen. This prayer is from Dr. Ray Pritchard
