Whether for work or leisure, traveling can be super fun. Whether you are traveling to a place you are familiar with, or a place of the unknown, there is always an adventure to be found. Leaving things you need at home can sometimes detour your whole trip. Without realization, many times when we travel, we leave Jesus at home. It is then we begin to wonder why things feel so off. One of the most beautiful things from traveling is God reveals himself differently when we bring him out of our everyday element. Through the years of traveling, I’ve learned different ways to stay connected with God while on the road.
Pick Out Sermons/podcast: Pick out sermons and podcasts you’ve been waiting to listen to but haven’t gotten a chance to. While you are traveling to your destination, you can enjoy them and fill up on the word of God.
Finding Quiet Time: When traveling, most of envision of sleeping in late and having breakfast sent to the hotel room. However, waking up early assures God is your priority and then you can move forward with the day. This is helpful especially if you are with friends.
Be Open About Needing Time Alone: If you are traveling with people, it’s important to let them know you will need time alone so when you get away to be with Jesus, they don’t feel rejected
Connect with people who love the lord: It’s pretty easy to find a person or group that loves Jesus as much as you do. Be spirtually vulnerable, hang out and share the word of God. Have lunch and make a new friend
Find A Church in the Area: My sweet friend Jessica shared this tip with me; If you are going to be away on a Sunday or a bible study day, do some research and visit a church near your traveling area
Pray: Talk to God and ask him for different ways to stay connected while traveling. God will show you ways you never even thought of
Write when you can’t speak: Sometimes when I travel, I’m around so many people but I want to say so much to God. In those moments, I can’t fall on my knees. However, I can write letters to God which is just as efficient
Create A Playlist: Create a special worship song list when you travel
Plan Ahead: Plan ahead if you have an idea of what your days will look, you can schedule your alone time in advance. Maybe when everyone is having lunch or if you have friends that take naps.
Stick to your routine: If you have a routine, stick to it when you travel. It makes things so easier to stay connected with God
Love you Treasures, remember God loves you even more though
If you haven’t accepted Jesus in your heart, and you would like to here’s a prayer you can pray and get connected to a local church.
Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life.I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faith, I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen. This prayer is from Dr. Ray Pritchard
